Nuestra Clinica del Valle is incorporated as the Migrant Program of the local health department, caring for farmworker families in the Rio Grande Valley.

Who we serve

Our service area covers 2,793 square miles of Hidalgo and Starr Counties along the United States–Mexico border. Close to 914,000 people live here. Nine in ten are Hispanic, and one in three has an income below the federal poverty level.

Unemployment here has stayed above the state and national rates. The area is home to many migrant and seasonal farmworkers, most of whom have no health benefits. One in three residents has no health insurance of any kind.

NCDV is the safety net for working families who cannot pay for care or insurance. Anyone can be seen, and fees are set on a sliding scale based on household income and size.

Run by the community

NCDV is governed by a Board of Directors. By law and by design, patients hold at least 51 percent of the seats. The remaining members bring experience in medicine, dentistry, finance, law, education, and community service.

As a federally qualified health center, NCDV receives federal Health Center Program funding and must serve everyone in its area regardless of ability to pay.
