Insurance & Enrollment
We accept Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, and most private health insurance plans. If you don’t have insurance, our enrollment staff can help you apply at no cost and explain what your plan covers once you’re enrolled.
What we accept
- Medicaid
- Medicare
- CHIP
- Most private health insurance plans
Bring your card
Bring your insurance card and a photo ID to your visit.
If you do not have a current card, bring the name of your insurance company so we can look up your benefits and member number, or a letter from the company showing your coverage and member number.
Tell us as soon as your coverage changes. If you bring in new coverage promptly, we refund what you paid for services the plan covers, within the plan’s filing deadline.
Need coverage? We help you apply.
Our outreach and enrollment staff sit down with you, complete the application, and explain what happens next. The help is free, in person, at six NCDV locations.
If you do not qualify for insurance, we screen you for other assistance programs.
Medicaid
Health coverage for children, pregnant women, and adults with low income.
CHIP
Children's Health Insurance Program, for children in families who earn too much for Medicaid.
Marketplace plans
Private insurance through healthcare.gov, often with help paying the premium.
SNAP and TANF
Food and cash assistance. Our staff help with these applications too.
